Customer Profile - Ivan and Anna*
While we love working with all our clients, there are a some who hold a special place in our hearts. And few are more dear to us than Ivan and Anna *.
We were first connected with them by a previous client, who was friends with the homestay family temporarily hosting them. A young refugee couple from Odessa, Ukraine, Ivan and Anna had arrived in Australia just over three months earlier. Since then, they had both found stable jobs and were looking for a little place of their own.
As soon as we met them, we knew we wanted to help them make Australia their home. We happily waived our usual fees and began working with them to define their requirements.
Given they didn’t have a car, good public transport links and an easy commute to their new jobs were at the top of their list. As they were planning on being in Australia long-term, they were also looking for somewhere they could really settle into.
While they were happy with their homestay arrangements, Ivan and Anna were keen to regain some independence and start their new life. Recognising this, we canvassed our network for suitable properties in their target location, and were able to quickly shortlist several options. Among these was a lovely apartment that seemed to tick all the boxes, so we committed to securing it for them.
While we didn’t have all the documentation usually required, we were able to explain the situation to the Property Manager. Thankfully, they were not only understanding, but keen to help Ivan and Anna out, and worked with the landlord to get their application approved.
This meant that, just a few short weeks after first meeting with them, Ivan and Anna received the keys to their new home. We feel incredibly privileged to have been able to assist them, and wish them all the best as they build their new life in Melbourne.
